Bee Health is delighted to announce it has been granted full approval by the Food Standards Authority (FSA) under Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004 and Regulation (EC) No.853/2004. These Regulations establish specific rules on the hygiene for food manufacturers to operate within the European Union (EU).
Adam Kitching, Head of Commercial at Bee Health commented: “Following Brexit, manufacturers of products of animal origin are required to be FSA approved in order to ship into the EU.”
The approval covers Bee Health’s manufacture of products of animal original, fishery products, gelatine, collagen (of all types including bovine, porcine, egg marine and avian) and highly refined ingredients which includes chondroitin sulphate, other hydrolysed cartilage products, chitosan and glucosamine.
“We are delighted to be the first UK health food supplement manufacturer to achieve these standards, which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our Quality department. This will minimise disruption to our customers’ supply chains and enable the free flowing of customer products between Great Britain and countries in the EU.”
The FSA approval follows on from Bee Health once again achieving ‘AA’ Certification, the highest score possible, at its recent British Retail Consortium (BRC) audit.
Recognised worldwide, the BRC certification program assures suppliers are compliant to the Global Food Safety Initiative and are critical to ensuring only the highest quality and safety to customers.
